William Bill Peacock Scholarship.

The William Peacock OAM Scholarship has been established through a partnership between Davaar Consultancy and the Global Nurses & Midwives Rotary Club (GNMRC) to support the continuing education and development of third year nursing and midwifery students. Founded in 2005 by Dr Wendy McIntosh PhD, Davaar Consultancy Training & Development Pty Ltd (ABN 29 111 467 219) provides training, education, supervision, and mentoring to health professionals with a focus on professional boundaries, wellbeing in the workplace and trauma informed care. The GNMRC was chartered by Rotary International on 22 December 2020. The Club’s
mission is to connect, support and mentor nurses and midwives worldwide in the spirit of

William (Bill) Peacock OAM PHF+ 8 contracted polio as a child and became a passionate advocate for Rotary International’s End Polio Now initiative. Throughout his life, Bill expressed a deep respect for the health professionals who cared for him and a lasting commitment to improving the lives of others. As a valued supporter of the GNMRC, he attended fundraising events and shared his lived experience of how polio impacted on his childhood and life. Despite the challenges he faced, Bill focused on what could be achieved rather than what was lost. Bill passed away on 27 November 2022 leaving a legacy of resilience, advocacy, and service to others.

This scholarship honours the memory of William (Bill) Peacock recognising his lifelong commitment to community, education and compassionate care. The scholarship encourages students who demonstrate excellence, empathy, and leadership within nursing or midwifery with value of $1000 ( AUD) every year.
