Toni Hoffman is a fierce patient advocate, a fur mother, a daughter, sister, and friend. She is best known for the part she played in the exposure of Dr Patel in Bundaberg, for which she was awarded the Australian of the Year Local Hero in 2006. She was also awarded a member of the Order of Australia. Toni is not only a nurse, but she is also a passionate lover of all things historical and studied Ancient History and Anthropology at the University of Queensland. She has just completed a Diploma of Egyptian hieroglyphics. She also has completed a Bachelor of Nursing, a grad certificate in Management and a Masters in Bioethics as well as her initial General Nursing, Midwifery, and an Intensive Care certificate from Kings College in London. Toni will speak today about professionalism and collegiality in Nursing and the role of Employee Assistance schemes.
