President's Report

Hello all members

How exciting that we are indicating four new members at our meeting Tuesday 13th, I look forward to seeing you all at the meeting to join in this fabulous event. In this Rotary month of Maternal and Child Health, it is great that one of our new members Tracy is the Principal Midwife Advisor in WA and has already been working on projects with a team in Tanzania.

Club Shirts & Scarfs

We have attached here information about our club shirts and scarfs. All members should have received an email from me about same in the last two weeks - might be worth checking your spam/junk mail. The leadership team have made a decision that should members wish to purchase a scarf or shirt or both - they will pay for same themselves.

If you would like to place an order please email me: wendy@davaar.com.au and I will add you to our order list. We will send invoices once we have received the merchandise.

100 years of Rotary

Our District is celebrating this fantastic achievement with two events. If you are not in the Brisbane area check out what the local Rotary clubs are doing in your city/ town and go join in.

The event promoted here is happening in Brisbane - be great to see you there.

Here's to another great week!

Charter President Wendy McIntosh

Rotary Theme for the Month of April
Maternal and Child Health

"We expand access to quality care, so mothers and children everywhere can have the same opportunities for a healthy future. An estimated 5.9 million children under the age of five die each year because of malnutrition, inadequate health care, and poor sanitation — all of which can be prevented."
Agenda for the Meeting of the 13th April 2021
Below is the Agenda for the Meeting of the 13 April 2021.

It is an evening meeting with the Zoom room open from 1800 Brisbane time to catch up.

The Zoom link is at the top of the agenda document.

Darcy Geale from Rotary Solar Case is the presenter at our meeting.

The Rotary Solar Case is a compact, high-power battery bank developed first and foremost to provide light in remote health centres, aiding health workers where the availability of electricity is problematic at the best
of times.
Have you accessed the Members Website?
The Members area of the Global Nurses and Midwives Website houses a lot of information about our club.

You can find all the documents that are discussed at meetings and in the Bulletin, plus check your own details, communicate with other Members and there is an App you can download so you can access info anywhere, anytime.

Gail Aylmer has done a great job of getting it all sorted. If you have a website question you can email Gail.
Projects We Have Underway

Our club members can shine a light on RI and our Global Nurses and Midwives Rotary Club by hosting a delicious tea break at work for their colleagues at work and talking to them about Rotary.

We will be baking up a storm, collecting the recipes and making a delicious-looking eBook, that will be used to raise funds.
