President's Report

Hello, Members around the world.
We are now in February which for Rotary is Peace and Conflict Resolution Month.
A time for us to reflect on how we as nurses and midwives contribute to peace in the world and how we are called on professionally when war rips nations and communities apart.

We have a fantastic presentation for our meeting on the 23rd of February

I look forward to seeing you all at our next meeting Tuesday 23rd February 0700hrs Qld time

Charter President Wendy McIntosh

Rotary Theme for the Month of February
"Today, over 70 million people are displaced as a result of conflict, violence, persecution, and human rights violations. Half of them are children.

We refuse to accept conflict as a way of life. Rotary projects provide training that fosters understanding and provides communities with the skills to resolve conflicts."

Have you accessed the Members Website?
The Members area of the Global Nurses and Midwives Website houses a lot of information about our club.

You can find all the documents that are discussed at meetings and in the Bulletin, plus check your own details, communicate with other Members and there is an App you can download so you can access info anywhere, anytime.

Gail Aylmer has done a great job of getting it all sorted. If you have a website question you can email Gail.
Projects We Have Underway

Our club members can shine a light on RI and our Global Nurses and Midwives Rotary Club by hosting a delicious tea break at work for their colleagues at work and talking to them about Rotary.

We will be baking up a storm, collecting the recipes and making a delicious-looking eBook, that will be used to raise funds.

The DG'S Doorway
Welcome to the February edition of the DG’s Doorway.

January saw the start of the new year and took us into the second half of our Rotary year.

If we had hoped for a slow start to transition into the new year, then we were very much mistaken.

There is lots of information about what Rotary is doing in Australia and Internationally in this addition - a great read!

Information From the District
We belong to District 9630 and each week a Newsletter is sent out to all Rotarians in that District.

There is lots of news about what is happening in the District and in Rotary in general.

The latest Newsletter has a focus on Rotary Peace Fellows and the Rotary Peace Centre at the University of Queensland.
