President's Report

Hello, Members around the world.
We are now in February which for Rotary is Peace and Conflict Resolution Month.
A time for us to reflect on how we as nurses and midwives contribute to peace in the world and how we are called on professionally when war rips nations and communities apart.

I envisage in the future that our club can assist support a colleague to participate in one of the Peace fellowships offered by Rotary International. For more information and resources go to My Rotary and follow links for Peace Fellowships.

We have two fantastic presentations for our meetings on the 9th and 23rd of February (check out our events calendar on our website).

On the 18th February, we are having a two-hour brainstorming and planning session to identify the projects our members want to do in the next year and longer-term. Be great to see you there and hear your ideas. 1830-2030hrs Brisbane time

I look forward to seeing you all at our next meeting Tuesday 9th February 1830-1930hrs Qld time

Charter President Wendy McIntosh

Rotary Theme for the Month of February
"Today, over 70 million people are displaced as a result of conflict, violence, persecution, and human rights violations. Half of them are children.

We refuse to accept conflict as a way of life. Rotary projects provide training that fosters understanding and provides communities with the skills to resolve conflicts."

We will be baking up a storm, collecting the recipes and making a delicious-looking eBook, that will be used to raise funds.
