I encourage you to join us for our Education meeting this Tuesday evening when our guest presenter will be Christmal Christmals, Associate Professor at the North West University in South Africa and consultant on health workforce education and policy.
 
 
Our last two meetings have been very informative.  April's education meeting was facilitated by Dr Meab Mdimi who spoke about the her PhD work on why traditional African vegetables  are a game changer for global health.  At May's members meeting, Past President, Dr Wendy McIntosh the outlined the work of the Rotary Foundation and its impact on humanitarian projects. 
 
Our club applauds our member, Cecilia Kpangbala-Floma who recently led a strategic delegation to meet with his Excellency President Josph Nyuma Boakai.  Cecilia serves as the Registrar of the Liberian Board for Nursing and Midwifery, and this recent delegation demonstrates her unwavering dedication to championing the standards and shaping the future of healthcare.
 
I am also pleased to announce that I will be joining an exceptional lineup of leaders and innovators shaping the future of nursing, global mobility and workforce development at the NOW EXPO ASIA 2026 conference 26th to 27th June.  Very proud to represent GNMRC and our commitment to the development of the nursing profession.
 
A warm reminder that our Changeover meeting is the 9th June - your colleagues and friends are welcome to join us.

Disaster Fund
Shelter Box is an exceptional organisation that our Club has partnered with. They provide emergency relief to people around the world who have been made homeless by natural disasters and conflict.
 
We have pledged to fund five Shelter Boxes each year for the next 3 years. The cost is $1000 per Shelter Box and we raise funds for this through raffles and events held at Education Conferences conducted by the Nurses for Nurses Network and Education at Sea.
 
A big thank you to the work of Sue and Jason to make this happen.

Rotary Solar Case
The Rotary Solar Case has been developed, first and foremost, to provide light in remote health centres, aiding health workers where the availability of electricity is problematic at the best of times. The ability to provide portable lights for village birthing assistants is a major priority in areas where women often give birth in village huts or village health centres where the light from kerosene lanterns or mobile phones is otherwise the best available alternative.
