President's Update
Greetings GNMRC Members
Hello to you all from Pres. Rtn Uday Kumar Paul

Greetings, Dear Fellow Rotarians,

As we enter the second month of this Rotary International year, I would like to extend my
sincere thanks and appreciation to the entire team for your incredible support in making our first month a success. August marks Membership and New Club Development Month in the Rotary calendar. I kindly request that each of our members connect with fellow nurses in their respective regions and spread the word about GNMRC’s mission, inviting them to join us in making a global impact.

Reflecting on this past month, we successfully hosted two inspiring speaker sessions:

  1. Dr. Patience Mashudu Tulelo, who delivered a deeply insightful presentation on Ubuntu in Midwifery Practices;
  2. Dr. Hepsi Bai Joseph, who conducted a powerful session on Stress Coping and Management Among Nurses.
Additionally, we had the proud privilege of partnering on a Global Grant with District 3191
for the Lake Rejuvenation Project in India, a meaningful step toward environmental
sustainability.

There is much more ahead, and I look forward to the many projects we will build together.

Thank you all for your unwavering support and guidance at every step.

Yours in Rotary Service,

Uday Kumar Paul Raj
President, Global Nurses and Midwives Rotary Club, Australia (RID 9620)

We are grateful to Dr. Hepsi Bai Joseph for an enlightening and impactful presentation that brought the realities of nursing to the forefront. Her insights inspired reflection, strengthened understanding, and empowered our global nursing community.
An incredible moment of global fellowship and shared vision! Our very own President Uday Kumar Paul standing alongside District Governor Rtn. Anil Gupta (RI District 3191, India) during his prestigious DG Installation ceremony.
Rotary connects the world, and witnessing this beautiful exchange of leadership and dedication reminds us of the profound impact we can make when we work across borders.
A meaningful reconnection with the Rotary Club of Marikina East, as Rotary leaders shared insights, strengthened bonds, and celebrated ongoing impact.
A reminder that leadership extends beyond roles, fostering collaboration, mentorship, and unity across the Rotary family.
The GNMRC Family proudly celebrates our Vice President, Dr. Nombulelo Zenani, on her remarkable graduation! Your dedication to healthcare and global service continues to inspire us all. Here’s to your success and many more milestones ahead!
August Education Meetings: Featuring Visionary Leaders in Nursing & Rotary
We are honored to host Prof. Srinidhi S. U., a distinguished Rotary leader and educator, at our upcoming Education Meeting on 11 August 2026. Prepare for an engaging and insightful session.
Driving innovation in nursing education and digital health, Mr Andile Mafilika is set to inspire our 25 August 2026 session. Be part of the conversation shaping the future of healthcare.
If you have not yet done the Youth Protection training, now is an opportunity to do so. District 9620 have updated links and content, so jump on and familiarise yourself with the content and complete the online training.
Disaster Fund
Shelter Box is an exceptional organisation that our Club has partnered with. They provide emergency relief to people around the world who have been made homeless by natural disasters and conflict.

We have pledged to fund five Shelter Boxes each year for the next 3 years. The cost is $1000 per Shelter Box and we raise funds for this through raffles and events held at Education Conferences conducted by the Nurses for Nurses Network and Education at Sea.

A big thank you to the work of Sue and Jason to make this happen.
Rotary Solar Case
The Rotary Solar Case has been developed, first and foremost, to provide light in remote health centres, aiding health workers where the availability of electricity is problematic at the best of times. The ability to provide portable lights for village birthing assistants is a major priority in areas where women often give birth in village huts or village health centres where the light from kerosene lanterns or mobile phones is otherwise the best available alternative.
