Our current leadership team will continue until the 30th June 2024 and then the new executive take up their roles on the 1st July. Congratulations to all members on your upcoming portfolios.

Treasurer Jeff has sent out the invoices for Jan-June 2024, invoices need to be paid by the 19th December 2023 to continue membership of the club. Please let Treasurer Jeff and President Sally know if you do not wish to continue as a member.

The leadership team have made a decision that all zoom meetings now will be using the one link, which is the second Tuesday of the month meeting link:

So both club meetings (2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month) and the leadership meeting will use this link. Hopefully this will make logging onto meetings much easier.

Treasurer Jeff has recently emailed members with club memberships renewal fee statements. I encourage all members to review the details of their invoice and ensure payment by 19th December.

President Salem invites all members to contribute to promoting Rotary International Monthly Theme. Attached here is the piece that Salem has done for this month Disease and Treatment Prevention. We will be promoting the month and a piece written by a member on our social media and we will create a page on the website and upload all pieces there when it is month specific.

To get members thinking about a theme they would like to write about, please send your piece to about one of the themes to Wendy’s email and we will format for promotion wendy@davaar.com.au

The Three Cs Cafe

As you are aware the Three C’s Cafe Check in Connect Chat is one of our major projects. The Three C’s Cafe offers a virtual space for colleagues to come into for a chat about professional matters of interest to them / and a space in which to be supported. The cafe is open to colleagues where ever they are in the world. The cafe is open to members of this club and non members

Disaster Fund

Shelter Box is an exceptional organisation that our Club has partnered with. They provide emergency relief to people around the world who have been made homeless by natural disasters and conflict.

We have pledged to fund five Shelter Boxes each year for the next 3 years. The cost is $1000 per Shelter Box and we raise funds for this through raffles and events held at Education Conferences conducted by the Nurses for Nurses Network and Education at Sea.

A big thank you to the work of Sue, Jason and Louise to make this happen. Shelterbox is very active in Turkey and Syria due to the recent devastating earthquakes.

Rotary Solar Case

The Rotary Solar Case has been developed, first and foremost, to provide light in remote health centres, aiding health workers where the availability of electricity is problematic at the best of times. The ability to provide portable lights for village birthing assistants is a major priority in areas where women often give birth in village huts or village health centres where the light from kerosene lanterns or mobile phones is otherwise the best available alternative.
