Have you registered with MY Rotary yet ?

A big thank you to all members who have registered with My Rotary between September and now.

As of the 6th December 2022, we have increased registration form 57% to 57.67% that means we still have 42.33% of our members who have not registered for My Rotary. Let's see if we can get to 100% before the DG visit on the 13th December.

My Rotary really is a rich resource of ideas about RI and different roles within clubs.
Portfolio Lead Projects
Project Portfolio leads Louise & Jules have had a meeting with the club project leads on Wednesday 30th November, they plan to give a report on all the projects to members in January

Club Projects

We are a very busy Club - below is a snapshot of the projects that we are currently involved in.

End Polio Now
We are pleased to report that thanks to the Paint for Polio events and Song a Day for a year donations in October - our club raised $1,040.00 which we have donated to End Polio Now. Well done everyone.

The Three C's Cafe

We will continue to offer the cafes every Thursday evening (Brisbane, Qld time) until the end of November. Please continue to advocate and promote the cafe with your colleagues through promoting our flyers in your tearooms, offices, and share / like / repost the flyer from our club LinkedIn, Social Media pages.
Disaster Fund
Shelter Box is an exceptional organisation that our Club has partnered with. They provide emergency relief to people around the world who have been made homeless by natural disasters and conflict.

We have pledged to fund five Shelter Boxes each year for the next 3 years. The cost is $1000 per Shelter Box and we raise funds for this through raffles and events held at Education Conferences conducted by the Nurses for Nurses Network and Education at Sea.

Treasurer Jeff is pleased to report that we have been able to donate our first $1,000.00 to Shelterbox for this Rotary Year. Again a big thank you to the work of Sue, Jason and Louise to make this happen. Shelterbox is very active in Pakistan currently due to the major flooding that has caused devastation recently.

ICN Girl Child Education Fund

Project lead Cecelia Flomo invites members of the club who are interested in being involved in this project to contact her and then, as a team, they can determine future progress for the project

The Florence Nightingale International Foundation (FNIF), the charitable arm of ICN, launched the Girl Child Education Fund (GCEF) in 2005 with the mission of supporting access to education for the orphaned daughters of nurses in developing countries.
Rotary Solar Case
The Rotary Solar Case has been developed, first and foremost, to provide light in remote health centres, aiding health workers where the availability of electricity is problematic at the best of times. The ability to provide portable lights for village birthing assistants is a major priority in areas where women often give birth in village huts or village health centres where the light from kerosene lanterns or mobile phones is otherwise the best available alternative.
Birthing Kits Assembly Day
Fabulous day with members of the Global Nurses & Midwives RC and pals. We packed 200 Birthing Kits for our Birthing Kit Assembly Day. We do not know which country they will be sent to we only know they will be of benefit. Fun and easy project for our members to do.

December is Disease Prevention and Treatment Month

This is one of the Foundations Areas of Focus and one in which many of us would be aware of the numerous projects around the world supported by clubs and the Foundation. Look at your role in promoting improved health at home and abroad and supporting these vital programs that contribute not only to healthy communities but peaceful communities.

Disease prevention and treatment takes on many forms, from supporting studies to helping immunize people to improving drinking water and the sanitation infrastructure. The world relies on Rotary to tackle these global challenges.

Imagine Rotary, the theme for 2022-2023

The theme graphic was designed by an Australian indigenous artist to link with the Melbourne convention in 2023. Circle - connections to one another.
