President's Update
Greetings GNMRC Members
Hello to you all from Pres. Rtn Uday Kumar Paul

Dear Club Members and friends,

As we step into the new Rotary year 2026–27, I congratulate all newly elected board members  and I want to extend my deepest appreciation to our outgoing President, Rtn. Rudson, for his exceptional leadership over two consecutive terms. My heartfelt gratitude also goes to our dedicated Club Secretary, Rtn. Helen, our Treasurer, Rtn. Maria, and the entire leadership team for their steadfast commitment for extending their support for another term as well.

This year, Rotary International President Rtn. Olayinka has given us a powerful charge: "Create a Lasting Impact."

True impact cannot be achieved in isolation. As a diverse, multicultural network of nurses, our collective potential is limitless. Though we hail from different backgrounds, speak various languages, and practice in different corners of the world, we are bound by a single, profound calling: to care.

By merging our frontline clinical expertise with the global strength and structure of Rotary, we are uniquely positioned to design sustainable, life-changing projects rather than temporary solutions. Let us dedicate this year to close collaboration, listening to one another's ideas, and demonstrating exactly what an all-nurse club can achieve when we move forward with a unified purpose.

Together, let us strive every day to leave a lasting, positive footprint on our communities and the lives we touch.
Yours in Rotary Service,

Uday Kumar Paul Raj

Dr. Tulelo will be sharing insights on how the philosophy of Ubuntu, "I am because we are" can shape, elevate, and humanize midwifery and healthcare practices on a global scale.

The Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges individuals who have made significant contributions to The Rotary Foundation. More than just a financial milestone, it symbolizes a profound dedication to the highest ideal of Rotary: building a better, more peaceful world through local and international service.

Cheers to a new chapter! Wishing our incoming Rotary President the best of luck for a successful and impactful tenure. We are ready to support your vision for the year ahead.
If you have not yet done the Youth Protection training, now is an opportunity to do so. District 9620 have updated links and content, so jump on and familiarise yourself with the content and complete the online training.
Disaster Fund
Shelter Box is an exceptional organisation that our Club has partnered with. They provide emergency relief to people around the world who have been made homeless by natural disasters and conflict.

We have pledged to fund five Shelter Boxes each year for the next 3 years. The cost is $1000 per Shelter Box and we raise funds for this through raffles and events held at Education Conferences conducted by the Nurses for Nurses Network and Education at Sea.

A big thank you to the work of Sue and Jason to make this happen.
Rotary Solar Case
The Rotary Solar Case has been developed, first and foremost, to provide light in remote health centres, aiding health workers where the availability of electricity is problematic at the best of times. The ability to provide portable lights for village birthing assistants is a major priority in areas where women often give birth in village huts or village health centres where the light from kerosene lanterns or mobile phones is otherwise the best available alternative.
