Presidents Update
Greetings GNMRC Members
Hello to you all from
President Sally

Hello Fellow Rotarians and Friends,

As I conclude my term as President of the Global Nurses and Midwives Rotary International Club, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each member for their dedication and support. Fellowship, the Rotary theme for June, truly reflects the essence of our club. Despite the challenges of our locations , we remained connected, resilient, and committed to our mission of service.

Your hard work and enthusiasm have driven our accomplishments, from health camps to international initiatives.

Our fellowship goes beyond meetings and projects; it's in the everyday acts of kindness and support we offer each other. As I pass the baton to the incoming president, Rudson I am confident our tradition of fellowship will continue to thrive. Thank you for the honor of serving as your president.

With gratitude,
Salem Dawit
Outgoing President
Global Nurses and Midwives Rotary International Club

Our club changeover is on Tuesday 9th July and we welcome all members to attend and reflect on the achievement from President Sally's year and hear about the plans from incoming club President Rudson. We have a guest speaker, Dr Jerome Babate, for this event.  Remember changeover is also where our club presents a Paul Harris fellow to a deserving club member or colleague in the broader community. If you would like to nominate someone for consideration please email Rotary Foundation Lead Cecelia at: ceceliakf1@yahoo.com and President Salem at: sally_d38@hotmail.com

Please invite colleagues to join us - we love having guests to share our experiences with us.

Updated constitution
Secretary and President Elect Rudson has sent out the revised constitution for you all to review and vote on.
The revised constitution is based on the new District 9620 template.  Clubs are not able to alter the content of the constitution except on areas which were highlighted. The leadership team have reviewed and voted on the new changes for our club.

The club rules will be coming out to you before the end of this month for you to also review and vote on.  The club rules are where we are able to individualise the uniqueness of our club as part of the Rotary Family

Vale Bryan Payne
On behalf of the myself and the entire GNMRC, I extend our heartfelt condolences on the passing of our esteemed fellow Rotarian, Bryan Payne.  His dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment to the Rotary community have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Bryan was a beacon of service and fellowship, and his contributions to our club and the broader community were immeasurable.  His spirit of generosity and his passion for making a positive impact will continue to inspire us all.
During this difficult time, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.  May you find comfort in cherished memories of Bryan's remarkable legacy.  He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
With deepest sympathy,
President Salem Dawit GNMRC

The Three C’s Cafe offers a virtual space for colleagues to come into for a chat about professional matters of interest to them / and a space in which to be supported. The cafe is open to colleagues where ever they are in the world. The cafe is open to members of this club and non members.  It is currently on hold.  The project lead with confer with cafe facilitators for the next steps for this project.  The outcome will be published in upcoming bulletins
Disaster Fund
Shelter Box is an exceptional organisation that our Club has partnered with. They provide emergency relief to people around the world who have been made homeless by natural disasters and conflict.

We have pledged to fund five Shelter Boxes each year for the next 3 years. The cost is $1000 per Shelter Box and we raise funds for this through raffles and events held at Education Conferences conducted by the Nurses for Nurses Network and Education at Sea.

A big thank you to the work of Sue, Jason and Louise to make this happen. Shelterbox is very active in Turkey and Syria due to the recent devastating earthquakes.
Rotary Solar Case
The Rotary Solar Case has been developed, first and foremost, to provide light in remote health centres, aiding health workers where the availability of electricity is problematic at the best of times. The ability to provide portable lights for village birthing assistants is a major priority in areas where women often give birth in village huts or village health centres where the light from kerosene lanterns or mobile phones is otherwise the best available alternative.
