President's Update
Greetings GNMRC Members
Hello to you all from Pres. Rtn Uday Kumar Paul

Dear Fellow Rotarians, Friends, and Esteemed Members of the Global Nurses & Midwives Rotary Club,

As we step into September, we embrace one of Rotary International’s most vital Areas of Focus: Basic Education and Literacy.

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our entire team for your unwavering support, dedication, and active participation as we achieved incredible milestones together this past month.

Reflecting on Our August Successes
Thanks to the collective support of our team, August was a month of deep learning and inspiration: We hosted enriching Education Meets featuring PP Rtr Prof Srinidhi S U, who shared insights on his Rotary and Rotaract journey, and Mr. Andile Mafilika, who presented on digital health integration in nursing education and practice. We proudly celebrated the achievements of our scholarship awardee Helvita Pinto, recipient of the William Peacock OAM Scholarship.

Looking Ahead to September
Building on this momentum and focusing on September's theme of Basic Education and Literacy, our team is expanding our educational outreach. We are currently planning to award scholarships to deserving nursing students across three different member countries.Thank you all for your continued commitment to our shared mission. Together, we truly continue to Create Lasting Impact.

Warm regards,
Uday Kumar Paul
President 2026 – 27

A Message from President Uday Kumar Paul of GNMRC to the victims and survivors of the Nepal flooding.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate one of our very own, Dr. Christiana Baindu Massally, Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Sierra Leone and an esteemed Rotarian
Our amazing GNMRC Members- Wendy McIntosh, Rukhsana, and Kate travelled to the breathtaking Blue Mountains as Wendy and Sue delivered a powerful 2.5‑day conference on Trauma‑Informed Care.
President Rudson recently served as a Distinguished Resource Speaker at the International Webinar on Strengthening Nursing Futures: Research, Practice, and Education in a Global Context, hosted by Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST) in collaboration with The Filipino Nursing Diaspora Network (FiND), New South Wales, Australia.
September 2026 Education Meetings: Featuring Visionary Leaders in Nursing & Rotary
We are honored to host Pres.Rtn. Adedotun Amori a distinguished Rotary leader and educator, at our upcoming Education Meeting on 08 September 2026. Prepare for an engaging and insightful session.
Building sustainable eye care in Haiti, Dr Anshu Chandra is set to inspire our 22 September 2026 session.
If you have not yet done the Youth Protection training, now is an opportunity to do so. District 9620 have updated links and content, so jump on and familiarise yourself with the content and complete the online training.
Disaster Fund
Shelter Box is an exceptional organisation that our Club has partnered with. They provide emergency relief to people around the world who have been made homeless by natural disasters and conflict.

We have pledged to fund five Shelter Boxes each year for the next 3 years. The cost is $1000 per Shelter Box and we raise funds for this through raffles and events held at Education Conferences conducted by the Nurses for Nurses Network and Education at Sea.

A big thank you to the work of Sue and Jason to make this happen.
Rotary Solar Case
The Rotary Solar Case has been developed, first and foremost, to provide light in remote health centres, aiding health workers where the availability of electricity is problematic at the best of times. The ability to provide portable lights for village birthing assistants is a major priority in areas where women often give birth in village huts or village health centres where the light from kerosene lanterns or mobile phones is otherwise the best available alternative.
