Presidents Report
Greetings GNMRC Members
Hello to you all

The theme for Rotary for August is Membership and Extension and we look forward to inducting some new members this month (see below). All members are invited in this Rotary year to - Each one Bring one. Like clubs around the world, we aim to double our membership numbers in this Rotary year. You are invited to identify colleagues whom you think would like to be a part of our club and who can help us contribute to the projects and service we do as Rotarians. Invite them to join our meetings so that we can meet them and they can meet us. It would be great to have more student nurses/midwives as members. We have such a great group of mentors who can assist guide and support students on their professional journey.

Projects

I am happy to announce that three Rotary Solar Cases will be donated to midwives in PNG from our club. A big thank you to two other Rotary Clubs who have enabled us to do this. Thanks to a Facebook posting from member Gail - I have been approached by representatives from two other Rotary Clubs who are interested in the Rotary Solar Cases. Go us

Two new roles were allocated this week.

Club Social Activities Coordinator - member Cheryl has kindly offered to be the Social Activities Coordinator for our club. Cheryl would love to have two members join with her to create fun, learning and networking virtual events for all our members. Cheryl's email is chezz1068@gmail.com. Get in touch with her to be part of Cheryl's team - you will have fun creating activities for us all.

Writer of articles about our club, about our projects

I am delighted to say that member Debra Jackson AO will be the writer of articles that we can submit to our professional journals and also to Rotary Downunder magazine. Debra has a strong background in publications in journals and I look forward to reading what she is able to get published for us.

Sponsorship Partnership Team

We still need members to volunteer to be part of this team which i know will offer many great learning opportunities. Let me know of your interest, once we have 2-3 members interested I will organise a zoom meeting to have a team chat. We are looking at a member to lead this team for us, my email: wendy@davaar.com.au

New member proposed

Maggie Harvey - midwife and educator at TAFE. Maggie has a broad wealth of experience working in outback Australia as a midwife. Maggie has been nominated by member Rukhsana Aziz and is known to some members of the club. Maggie is keen to become a member of the GNMRC to be involved in offering assistance in the world in whatever way she can as a Rotarian. Maggie has been endorsed by the leadership team to be a member. You the members now have the opportunity to vote. You have until Friday 13th August to contact President Wendy if you have any objections to Maggie becoming a member of our club, my email: wendy@davaar.com.au

Each time I write these updates, I think goodness we are a busy club and I am so proud of what we are doing.

See you on Tuesday the 10th.
